TRAVELER . wheel thrown / hand built and sculpted stoneware with underglaze and/or glazes. NFS.
From 2014-2019 I traveled the world as an Artist/Teacher on cruise ships, teaching watercolor painting to hundreds of passengers. My ceramic vessels emerged two years later during the pandemic, when, like most people, I longed to travel again and wondered if those days of freedom had passed. In each vessel, I've tried to encapsulate, in shape, color and gesture, the singular feeling of a country, city or region I’ve loved. My work is an offering of gratitude in response to the world's treasures of nature, culture and adventure.
